Hi I'm Laynie Ann Hamblin

I'm 19. I like to try new things. I love learning about people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Laynie and I am a fresh 19 years old. I love to read books, use my imagination, and learn. I just finished my second semester at Eastern Arizona College, and now I am moving back home to help my parents. I love to travel and learn about the different ways that people live their lives, it is absolutely fascinating to me. I am majoring in linguistics and working on speaking my third language. I also love to dance, even though I am not very good at it and have almost no grace or coordination. I take classes and try anyway. Elephants of the African variety are my favorite, and I love adventure! I know with God on my side I can do anything! "If things start happening don't worry, don't stew. Just go right along and you'll start happening too!" - Dr. Seuss

Why I am a Mormon

My grandmother was the first member in our family, and she was baptized at the age of 14. I grew up in the church with a very strong and faithful family, but one day in my early teens I wondered what this gospel meant to me. I went searching everywhere for the key to happiness, and for years was frustrated by my failed efforts. In early 2012 I moved to a tiny college town called Thatcher, Arizona and started going to school at Eastern Arizona college with my very best friend. I watched her every day as she prayed, read the Book of Mormon, and attended the temple regularly and I realized that she had the happiness and vigor for life that I so greatly desired. I asked her to pray with me, to help me find what I had been searching for these many years. She was the greatest missionary to me in the past year. Through prayer and much pondering I found the key to happiness in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, The answer was right under my nose the whole time, I just had to see the difference.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the things that would please my Father in Heaven. I help where I can and try to serve others. Everyone is a Child of God, and deserves to be treated like the royalty that they are.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Laynie Ann Hamblin
God has called a prophet on earth in the latter days, just like he did anciently in the Bible. The current prophet and President of the Church is Thomas S. Monson and his two counselors are Dieter F. Uctdorf and Henry B. Eyring -- together they make up the First Presidency, similar to Peter, James, and John after Christ's death. I have a testimony that Thomas S. Monson and his counselors are men of God, and that God gives us present-day revelation through them. Show more Show less
