Hi I'm Garrett Smith

I love to play sports, being outside and working with my hands and I am a simple country boy from the Natural State, Arkansas.

About Me

I am the middle child of 5 and the oldest boy. I am from Arkansas and love to watch the Hogs play any sport and cheer them on every chance I get. I love to be active and being outside every moment I can wether it be playing a sport, camping or working, outside is where I would rather be. I am grateful for each one of my siblings they are the best and I wouldn´t trade them for anything. I am the first in my family to serve a mission and I am currently on my mission right now serving in Mendoza, Argentina here I will spend the next 2 years of my life learning how to speak Spanish so that I can preach the Gospel and help people come unto Christ. It is such a great blessing to be a missionary. I have had the great opportunity to serve in two different parts of the world on my mission. One in the United States in Alabama where I waited for my visa for 8 months and the rest of it will be in Mendoza, Argentina. While on my mission I will help others to have the peace and comfort that comes from being apart of this church by inviting them to come unto Christ. I am happy to be on my mission and there is no other place I would rather be. Serving the Lord is one of the greatest blessing I have ever been able to experience in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Thanks to my mother I had the great opportunity of having the gospel my whole life. But sadly I didn't always follow the teaching of the church. And there came a point in my life where I took a pause and looked at my life and realized that I wasn't happy like I was when lived the standards of the Church. I started to wonder what it was that was different what was missing and what had changed in my life and why it was that I was always so upset and sad. There were many that helped me to get on the right track again. My older sister, who has always looked out for me and has always been one of my best friends and my Mother as well as many friends and Church Leaders. With their help I was able to find in my life what was missing, when really the whole time it had been right there in front of me the whole time. With the Gospel back in my life I made dramatic changes and because of these changes I started to be more happy and smile a lot more. I was able to feel the presence of the Spirit again in my life and with it for the first time in a really long time I felt the love that God and Jesus had for not only me but for everyone. And I started to prepare my self to serve a mission. There is no doubt in my mind now that this is the true Church of God. I know that God loves me cause he gave me a simple country boy from Arkansas a second chance. I know that the Atonement is real and because we have it man can change and become better. I am a Mormon cause I know it to be the only true Church and the only Church to have the Priesthood.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith one day at a time. I do this my studying and pondering the scriptures, communicating with my Heavenly Father and attending church activites. As I do this it helps me to understand better that though I make mistakes (a lot of the time) its okay and it also helps me to have more trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For the Next 2 years of my life i will be serving a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While I am on my mission I will help others come closer to our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. Before I became a full-time Missionary I attened Church every Sunday and was a Sunbeam, Primary Teacher. I taught 3-4 year olds about the Gospel of Jesus Chirst and I absolutely loved it. Those little kids were the best and helped me probally more than I helped them. After my mission I will continue to be a missionary and continue to invite others to come to our Savior and help them to feel the love and the peace that He has for us. As well as continue with the normal life, go to school and study, find a good job so that i will have some money, and sometime in the future get married and start a family.
