Hi I'm Kristin

I'm from California, love Disney, attend BYU, will be serving in the Berlin, Germany mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying to teach middle/high school students. Hopefully this will include teaching foods, family relations, family finance, adult roles, human development, and that sort of thing. I love going to Disneyland, reading, making food, eating, watching movies, and simply having fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this is where my Heavenly Father wants me to be. As I grew up, I was obedient because I didn't know anything else. As a teenager, I finally decided to do what they had said- I wanted to know for myself if what everyone was saying was true. I read the Book of Mormon. I prayed to know if the book was true. After about a month of praying sincerely to my Heavenly Father, I started to become afraid that maybe the answer was never going to come. I was afraid that no answer meant that my question wasn't being heard. Then one day in church I heard someone say that sometimes the answer has been there all along, we just have to recognize it. I said a prayer in my heart and asked if this was my answer. Suddenly, I felt the Spirit so strongly I could not deny it. Heavenly Father had heard my prayer! He did want me to know that the Book of Mormon was true. I felt loved, secure, and safe. This was the right path, I just had to show God that I would act on my faith and continue to be obedient even if I felt like no one heard my prayer. I'm a Mormon because I read the book, and I know it's true. I'm a Mormon because even though people aren't perfect, we need each other to become better. I'm a Mormon because I want to be the best person I can be to see my Savior and Heavenly Father again. I'm a Mormon because I know who I am, where I came from, and where I'm going. The message of the gospel has brought so much happiness to me- I can't wait to tell the world.

How I live my faith

Every day is a blessing, and I try to find some way to make it count for something. When other people take time out of their day to cheer me up or do something kind, it means a lot to me. I try my best to follow the example of Christ and make moments with people more important than my problems. I really enjoy visiting other girls in my church to share an uplifting message and make sure everything is going OK with them. Visiting teaching is a two-way blessing, because I benefit from visiting them, and then I am also blessed when I myself am visited. Similarly, when home teachers go out of their way to let me know that they are there for me, I truly feel loved by not just my friends, but also by my Heavenly Father. It is a nice reminder to me that there is always someone here for me when I need it. I have enjoyed teaching in the church, planning activities, and helping other people with their own callings in the church.
