Hi I'm Tyler

I was born in 1994 in Provo, UT. I am currently serving a mission in the Adriatic South

About Me

I would consider myself a musician above anything else. I love the arts and have been raised in a family that has a great deal of appreciation for it. I play several instruments such as the piano, guitar, trumpet, percussion, tuba, as well as sing. I went to university in MD where I studied International Business. Some of my hobbies include music, computers, hanging out with friends, and definitely a good amount of sleeping. Also, I will never turn down a good meal : ) I will be serving in the Adriatic South mission beginning July 3rd, 2013 speaking Albanian.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the strength it gives me in my life and testimony I have that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that Heavenly Father is our eternal father who created the Heavens and the Earth. One of the most comforting things that the Church has taught me about is how families can be together forever. This key part of our existence resonates with me especially since the death of my father this past year. It gives me undying comfort and strength knowing that I will be able to see him again and that my family can be together forever through this life and the next. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and was visited by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that he was given guidance from angels and the Lord on how to restore the Church to the Earth today. I also know that we have a prophet today that is called of God. President Monson continually receives revelation on how to guide the Church and does so in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Since I moved away from my home to mostly non-LDS area, my beliefs have been challenged in many different ways. I had to decide whether or not I was going to stay with the church that I had been raised in my entire life. I took a step of faith and decided that I would not compromise my standards and live a worthy life while continuing to be an active member in my church. Another way I live my faith is by serving a church mission. I received my mission call in February of 2013 and I will be serving in the Adriatic South mission speaking the Albanian language. I am very excited and blessed with the opportunity that I have to serve the Lord and spread the gospel to those that have not heard of it.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Tyler
No. Absolutely not. Although it is strongly encouraged by the Church to serve a mission, it is ultimately between the individual and the Lord to decide if he/she will go. I made the decision to serve a mission because I want to spread the Gospel to those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear it. I also love to serve other people, whether it be physical or spiritual service. But ultimately, the main reason I chose to serve a mission is because I love God. I want to do everything I can to please him and be worthy to return to him. That is why I choose to serve. Show more Show less
