Hi I'm Zachary Bassett

I'm just an average missionary.

About Me

I'm Zach! Right now, I'm serving a mission in Oregon! If there is one thing that I may say I am best at, I believe that thing would be that I am a spectacular big brother. My family means everything to me. I am the second oldest of six children, the youngest of which is 8. I graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 2012, and have always been a fan of video games. I have a lot of hobbies, but I'm mostly just a dabbler. I have a lot of mediocre skills, and I'm not really SUPER good at any one thing. I've morphed into quite a social butterfly on my mission, whereas before I was more of a social caterpillar... eating and sleeping all the time. Serving a mission is the best decision I have made in my life, and will always be the most rewarding thing I could have done for myself at this time. I have truly learned to serve, to value, and to love other people more than myself. It has been such a blessing!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon church, but that isn't why I'm a Mormon. I'm a Mormon not only because I have prayed and asked if this is right, but because I have received an answer to those prayers! I have seen the good that comes from this gospel! I have felt peace in my life during difficult times because of what I believe! I feel the guidance of my Heavenly Father every day. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try my best to be a happy and optimistic person! I firmly believe that a smile and a compliment really can brighten up somebody's day. I love making people feel good about themselves, and about life in general! I think it's a lot easier to do that with the faith that I have.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Zachary Bassett
The Word of Wisdom was a revelation given to Joseph Smith for our physical, mental, and spiritual welfare. The Word of Wisdom discourages us from partaking of addictive substances, including Tobacco, Alcohol, Coffee, and other drugs. Besides the fact that these substances can be harmful to us, they are also addictive. Addiction infringes upon our free will, which God values very much, making it harder for us to choose not to partake of these things. The Word of Wisdom also provides dietary guidelines that help us live happier, healthier lives. Show more Show less
