Hi I'm Kyle Webster

I grew up in Layton UT. I'm a cartoonist, I play the ukulele, I'm serving in Alaska for two years, and I'm Mormon

About Me

Drawing is what I'm into. My friends never see me without my sketch book. When I'm in the mood, I pop it out and draw what I see and how I see it. I think of fun was to make everyday situations funny and unusual. I also do musical theater for fun! To me theater is a way to make people laugh and enjoy something live!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, not because I grew up in the church, but the joy the gospel has brought me in my life. As a kid I wasn't the most well behaved child in my family. In fact I the youngest! I drove my parents up the wall time and time again. As I grew older and went into high school. I started to question what I really believed. I started to get involved with things not in harmony with the church. I started to skip church on Sunday, I'd forget to pray, I would not read the scriptures, and I would get into loud arguments with my mom. Slowly I felt myself become angry at everyone. I would get mad at small things. I was not happy with my life at all and I was angry at God for putting in state. After a fight with my mom one night, I sat in my room and thought about what I said and how I felt. I remember feeling horrible and all I wanted was peace. Then a song came into my mind, "Did you think to Pray." I realized that I haven't prayed in years. In that instant I got down on my knees and told my Heavenly Father, "I need help." I found what I was looking for in that small instant.....peace. The answer to my prayer was my mom. She came into my room and for once in a long time we talked. We didn't yell or argue but just talked. I knew that is was a way that my Father in Heaven loved me. Since that day I did my best to pray to my Him daily keep that relationship I have with him. Being Mormon is the best thing I ever done. It is Who I am and it reminds me that I am a Child of a supreme being. I love this Gospel with all my heart and I would not change it for anything in the world.

How I live my faith

When it comes down to drawing cartoons, I need to personally remember my standers I've set for myself. I want to keep my drawings appropriate, but funny as well. As I draw I contently ask myself, "would I feel comfortable showing this to my mom?" Doing so helps me keep my standers and bring a smile to peoples. My faith is who I am and who I want to be. Living by my standers helps me also prepare myself to be a father.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Kyle Webster
Yes! We look to the Bible for more teachings of the gospel. I love to read the stories in the Old and New Testament. I very much enjoy making connections with The Book of Mormon and the Bible. Show more Show less
