Hi I'm Jon Daisson

I was born in Idaho, raised in Payson Utah, Ive been called to serve an LDS mission in Chile

About Me

My name is Jonathan, most of my friends just call me Jon. I am currently going to college as a biology major. I love tennis, golf, wrestling, and football, any sport really. I'm a big camper and hiker, I love mountain biking and anything outdoors. I've recently been called to serve a full-time mission for the LDS church. I am the oldest of four, three little sisters, and I have a Mom and a Dad two dogs and a cat, back home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel. My mother is a convert and my father was also born into the gospel. I grew up learning about Christ and the atonement and many things that those who do not know our faith, or have just joined, may not understand fully. The reason I keep going though is because I gained my own testimony of the gospel, and came to fully understand the things I've been taught since I was a little kid. Through the many experiences and hard times I had in high school and college I've found that turning to the Lord is the best thing to do. I know that the Lord will give us direction, He knows us and loves us so much that if we but ask He will answer. "knock and ye shall recieve, ask and it shall be opened up unto you" that promise is one I know to be true and there is no way I could have recieved the guidance I did if it wasn't. I know that President Monson who is the head of our church does recieve direct revelation from God and that he tells us so that we may better ourselves. The Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith, there is two ways to look at the Book of Mormon, one Joseph Smith was a fraud and he wrote an entire book with a third grade knowledge, was martyred because he wouldn't deny the truth of it, and based an entire church on false doctrine, he would not do that! I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and was translated by divine revelation by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that God speaks to man today and that the heavens are open, and most of all, I know that this gospel is the true and full Gospel and if we live by His commandments we can be saved and live with Him again. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm a missionary for the LDS church. Sometimes it may seem hard but through the gift of the Holy Ghost I can conquer hard things. What a missionary does is leave their family for two years to preach the wonderful message of the gospel to the world, our sole purpose is to invite others to come to Christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I live my faith by acting on it (faith without works is dead James 2:17). I grew up knowing the truth of the gospel and seeing the joy and blessings it brings, so I want to share that with others, so I am.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Jon Daisson
We believe we need to be baptized by immersion because that is the way Christ taught baptism and was baptized. We also must be baptized by someone holding the right authority or priesthood. Baptism is a gateway to recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost and we are cleansed from our sins and can continue to be cleansed through repentance. Show more Show less
