Hi I'm Gary

I have grown up in Utah. I will be serving the people of Campinas Brazil in February of 2013. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member all my life. I grew up playing all sports, such as soccer, baseball, basketball, street hockey, and football. I especially love playing basketball, football, and most of all snowboarding. I am currently attending Utah Valley University, and I plan on going into Optometry. I recently received my call to the Brazil Campinas Mission. I will fly out on the 26th of February. I love being with my friends, family, nieces and nephews, and my ward family. I love working and being outdoors. I especially love being around people and to help serve anyone that is in need.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, and I would have loved nothing else. I made the decision at age eight to follow our Savior Jesus Christ and to be baptized, and to receive the holy ghost. That day meant the world to me. I was able to have the priesthood conferred upon me on my twelfth birthday, and went to the temple the next day. When I was able to drive, I mad it a personal goal to go to the temple every week. I have been so blessed to have a temple so close to me and easily accessible. Since I have been six-teen, I haven't been perfect at going every week, but I have made it if not two or more times a week since then. I have loved the opportunity to serve in the Lords holly house. I love the spirit that is in there to get me away from the world, and to feel safe. I know that if I continue to hold strong to His commandments, to pray and read my scriptures, I will always be able to go into His holly house. I love this gospel. I love the peace and happiness it brings to me. I love my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. I know that they live and continue to communicate with us through the Holly spirit. I know Jesus Christ to be yours and my Savior. I know his atonement to be true. I have seen how it has blessed my life today, and how it has blessed others. I know that I will be able to see our Savior again one day. I know that the Father and the Son appeared unto the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that he was and still is a true Prophet of God. I know he translated the Book of Mormon with the power of God. I know with all my heart the truthfulness of that pure book. I have felt of its spirit. I know of the Holy Bible to be the word of God also. I our Prophet Thomas S. Monson to be the true Prophet of God to day. I know that he is the Saviors mouth piece. I love this gospel with all my heart. I love my family and friends. I know that without this gospel in my life, I would not be where I am today. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I owe everything to my parents on how I live my faith. I grew up in the gospel, and I have loved every bit of it. I was able to be baptized on my birthday with my best friend, and was able to receive the Aaronic Priesthood on my 12th birthday. I have been taught by my parents to serve anyone I see that is in of need; and to do it with out looking for reward or to be thanked. I have had the wonderful opportunity of being in the deacons quorum presidency and teachers quorum president. I also was able to be seminary president my freshman, sophomore, and senior year of high school. I am currently a missionary representative for my singles ward in behalf of my home ward. I have loved having the chance to get a feel for missionary work early on. I have been taught by my parents to read my scriptures daily, pray daily, and attend the temple as often as I can. I know that by doing those three things I am who I am today. I attend church every week, and love being a part of those services.
