Hi I'm Russ

I'm a Band Nerd. I'm an Ultimate Frisbee player. I'm serving a two year mission. I love peanut butter & I am proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school-er. I am taking a lot of AP classes. I run all the time and participate in Cross-Country, Track, and Ultimate Frisbee. I also found out I could sing. I play the French Horn. I also play the Mellophone in Marching Band. I love Chemistry, it is my favorite class. I also love math. I am a very outgoing person. I do weird things just to see the reaction on people's faces. I am a wonderful friend. I love to listen to people's problems and give them advice on what to do next. I love spending time with my friends and playing board games with them. I have my own lawn/landscaping business and I make more than most teenagers. I am serving a two year mission to South Korea.

Why I am a Mormon

In The Book of Mormon, there is a promise that basically says, If you read this book and pray with faith that you will receive an answer and sincerely want to know if the book is the word of God, than you will know that this book is true. I excepted this challenge. One night I knelt down and prayed. I asked God, "Is Joseph Smith a prophet of God? Is The Book of Mormon the word of God?" I was quickly responded with a "Yes all that you have asked is true". This came to me as a burning with in my bosom. It was warm and peaceful. From that moment on I have never doubted that the church is true.

How I live my faith

I love going to Church every Sunday. I have the neat opportunity to be on a Youth Dance Committee. I help plan dances for the Youth in my area. It is my favorite calling because I get to come early to the dances and help set everything up and then I get to watch people come in and have a great time. I am now serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am going to South Korea. I am paying my own way. I have spent the last eighteen years saving to go on this mission. I only get to call home on Christmas and Mother's Day. I only get to e-mail once a week for an hour. Serving a mission was the best decision I have ever made.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Russ
God is the same today, tomorrow, and yesterday. Throughout History, God has chosen prophets. This the same in our day with Thomas S. Monson. Thomas S. Monson was called of God to be the prophet on the earth today. Show more Show less
