Hi I'm Kelsie

I'm a runner, CNA and aspiring nurse. I love rainy days, brownies, music and my kitty. Oh, and I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

After graduating high school, I attended my first two years of college at Southern Utah University where I received an Associates of Science degree; I am studying to be a nurse! I love people and find it so gratifying helping those who can't help themselves. I received my mission call to serve in the Australia Perth Mission beginning March of 2013, and I simply cannot wait!!! Some things I love: my family, music, singing at the top of my lungs in my car, running, going to the gym, playing my guitar, and country swing dancing. I can't wait for my turn to be a mom. My dad and mom are two of the greatest examples of what parents should be like. They aren't perfect by any means, but they try hard and I know they love me, just like my Heavenly Father loves me.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in the LDS church, I haven't always had a testimony of my own. When I was a child, I think I mostly leaned on my parents testimonies and the things they taught me. As I grew older, however, life's experiences and other things helped shape the woman I am today and gave me the testimony I now claim as my own. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I feel a sense of hope. It gives me strength and feelings of security. I honestly don't know where I would be in this life without the knowledge of this gospel; it gives me direction and helps shape me into a better person. This church makes me happier than anything else I have ever been a part of. I feel like I belong....I KNOW that I belong to something big, something infinite and eternal. I'm a Mormon because I know with all of my heart that this church is true. I have a testimony of it and of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it was restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith. It is SO powerful and can answer any of life's questions. I know that if you, too, want to know of its truthfulness, and you have a sincere heart and open mind and pray and ask God if it's right, that He will manifest the truth of it unto you like it teaches in Moroni 10:4. I know that God loves each and every one of His Children. He is a merciful God and wants to do all that He can to ensure we can live with Him again. I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is something I do day to day, one step at a time. Just like anything else in life, if you try to look too far ahead into the future at everything all at once, it can be pretty overwhelming! Essentially I know where I'm headed, and what I need to do to get there. But it's the decisions I make each and every day that are going to get me there. Some of the things I do to live my faith are: attending my church meetings every Sunday and partaking of the sacrament, praying morning and night, studying my scriptures, and attending the temple as often as I am able. Other ways I live my faith are by giving service to others, helping those who may need a shoulder to lean/cry on, and being a friend to everyone and choosing to see them the way God sees and loves them. I also live my faith by staying away from drugs and other harmful substances, taking care of my body by exercising on a regular basis, and abstaining from having any sexual relations before I am married. I am also living my faith by putting my own wants and desires on hold and choosing to serve as a full-time missionary in Perth, Australia. I believe that everyone deserves the chance to hear of this great and marvelous gospel!
