Hi I'm Jeffery L. Brown

I grew up in Dallas, TX. I was raised a Baptist. I am now a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing MMORPG's (Massively Multi-Player Online Role Playing Games). I also enjoy fishing, and camping. I go shooting my pistols when I have the time. I help others when I am able. I KNOW Heavenly Father wants us to help each other when we are able. I wish I could do more, but we do what we can with what we have. I am the father of a 25 year old bouncing baby boy ;-). He lives with his mother in Northern Alabama. I have an... Interesting... sense of humor ;) Some folks don't know how to take me, but that is ok. God made me, so I must be ok ;-) I am definitely ok with myself hehe ;) I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since January, of 1990.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Baptist church. I learned almost everything that I know about the Bible from there. Who doesn't know John 3:16? In the Old Testament, God tells us that he is the same today as he was yesterday, and that he will never change. I think to myself, "why don't they teach, and follow this in church"? I have read the Bible from cover to cover. I know that at least 15 books (the Apocrapha) are missing from the Bible. Why? I know that First Chronicles Chapter 29, verse 29 speaks of three books, (it even calls them books) but they are no where to be found in the Bible. Why? in the book of Amos, the Bible tells us that surely he (God) will do nothing, save he revealeth His secrets to His servants, the prophets, first. Where are these prophets today? If God never changes, he HAS to speak to us through His prophets, right? Either that, or he is a liar, and I just can't see that myself. I have put him to the test too many times. Christ said He had other sheep that hear his voice. I KNOW they were over here in the Americas. So you put all of these things together, and you can only come to one conclusion. Either all of the churches or wrong, (i.e. they are not teaching scripture (all of it) or they are mistaken. Christ also told His apostles to go forth two by two and preach the good news. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. A second witness. Just one more way that God proves that he doesn't change. He had His Son tell the apostles to have a witness when they went forth. The Book of Mormon is the Bible's witness. I have read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover as well. I know that it's teachings are Christ's Gospel, just as the Bible's teachings are Christ's Gospel. I know that because God is the same and will never change, that means that since His Holy priesthood was established in the time of Moses, that means that it is just as relevant today. Christ and His Gospel is alive! I live because Christ shed his precious blood for me!

How I live my faith

I am trying to do my home teaching. It isn't easy, because my families have moved on or there is no phone number, or nothing but a P. O. Box for them hehe. God is still working with me though ;)
