Hi I'm Landon Walker Wallace

I'm a student, a sports fanatic, an older brother, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love anything and everything that has to do with sports. I am an all around sports fan. I love watching ESPN. My dream would be to have a job at ESPN as a Broadcast Journalist. My two favorite sports are Basketball and Golf. I played Jr. High Basketball, and then Golf as a Junior and Senior in High School. I have 6 people in my family. I am the oldest. I have my Mom and Dad, my sister that's 15, a brother that's 14, and another brother that is 9. We are a golf family. My dad has been in our state's amateur tournament and the state open. My mom loves her Australian heritage, her mom and most of her extended family lives in Australia. I love my family. I have an awesome family, we have a lot of fun together. Between golf and ping pong, me and my siblings have some great matches. I am about to serve a mission in Ventura, California. I feel blessed to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because I have been able to find out for myself that what the church teaches is true and divinely inspired. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares for me. His son Jesus Christ was sent to this earth to atone and die for our sins, and then to overcome death through the resurrection. I know we lived with them before we came to this earth, our Savior and Father in Heaven's plan for us to return to them, meant that we needed to come to this earth to first receive our bodies, and then to prove our love for them by living in righteousness. We have the ultimate example to look to in our Savior Jesus Christ. This church teaches of Christ and strengthens my faith in Him and his Atonement. It is our Savior Jesus Christ's church on the earth today. Through the prophet Joseph Smith, our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ restored the fullness of the Gospel. We have a Prophet today who holds all the keys of the Holy Priesthood. "God's power given to man." He has the power and authority from God who has been called by Him to minister and witness of Christ. God reveals to our Prophet and other leaders of the Church His teachings. I have been blessed with the opportunity to see the power of the priesthood manifested in my life many times. Two of the greatest times I have felt the power of the priesthood, has been when I was able to baptize my friend, and younger brother. I know the priesthood power to be real. I have read the Book of Mormon twice now, and both times I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father and Savior through this great book of scripture. It truly is another testament of Christ. I don't see how anyone couldn't find their faith in Christ strengthened through this book. I know it to be heaven sent and inspired. I am so grateful to be a member of Jesus Christ's church. What we are taught in Church points my faith and hope to Christ.

How I live my faith

I have grown up my whole life in the church. I have had the opportunity to have callings in the two wards I have been in. When I was 12 years old, I was able to be the 1st counselor in the young men's. When I was 14 I also was a counselor in the young men's. When I was 16-18 I was 1st assistant to both Bishops in both wards. Hometeaching has always been a part of my church service. My dad and I have gone hometeaching since I was 14. I was also President of my seminary class. Out of all these great experiences and callings and service I have had in the church, the greatest calling I have received in the church is my mission call. I have been called to serve in Ventura, California. The next two years of my life will be spent serving the Lord through the people of California. I am so grateful for the opportunity and privilege I have to serve.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Landon Walker Wallace
The temples are the House of Lord. They are the most sacred and holy places on earth. In the temple members participate in ordinances that are essential to return to our Heavenly Father, members can be sealed for time and all eternity because of these special temple ordinances. Members covenant to live a more Christ-like life. Not only do we go to the temple for our own salvation but also to do these ordinances for the dead, who were not able to receive them while on earth. The temples are one of our greatest blessings our Heavenly Father has given us. Show more Show less
