Hi I'm Jess

I am an Idaho girl. I'm a mormon! I am currently serving in the Scotland and Ireland Mission! I love the gospel of Jesus Christ!

About Me

I have lived in Idaho most of my life. I love volleyball and basketball! I also love playing my violin and have played for the past 12 years. I am 19 and currently enrolled at BYU-Idaho, but I am putting my education on hold to serve a mission. I have been called to serve in the Scotland/Ireland Mission! After my mission I want to become a physician's assistant. I have a wonderful family adn they are my highest priority! I have and older brother and sister who both recently were married a few months ago, so I have two new sibilings! I also have a younger brother who is 15. My parents are my best friends and they will be celebrating their 25th anniversary. My familyenjoys spending time together outdoors on our farm and camping. For the past year I have worked for a septic pumping business, so I clean septic tanks and portable toilets. I love my job and where I live. Live is great and I know I am happy because of my religion.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the gospel of Jesus Christ and my family has always been active in the LDS Church. I was baptized when I was eight, but I learned later that I had been relying on parents knowledge of the truth. I gained my own personal knowledge of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith when I was at a week long church girls' camp. I was either 12 or 13 and during a testimony meeting had the overwhelming impression about the truth of the LDS church. I have know ever since then. I know that Satan puts doubt and fear into my head sometimes. He wants me to be confused and think that God won't fulfill all that He has promised. But God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will fulfill all that He has promised and loves each of us individually. I gain strength from this knowledge and come closer to my Heavenly Father through my daily prayers with Him. I love His scriptures and for the answers I find in them to my questions and problems. I know that Jesus Chirst atoned for all sins and sorrow. He has been Resurrected and lives this day. I can't wait to be back in his presence someday. I know that I can be etenally happy with my future family through the Holy Priesthood of God found in His temples that are on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday at my LDS Singles' Branch. We have about thirty people who come between the ages of 18-30. We have so much fun! I play a part in helping the women in the branch and teach lessons about Jesus Christ on some Sundays. We have an activity twice a month on Mondays that we call Family Home Evening. Usually we have a speaker or play games together. There are seven members in my branch who are about to serve missions. We are very open and accepting of anyone who wishes to come to our church, even if they aren't a member or if they are confused about what to believe. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Sunday is the best day of my week!

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Jess
We have a living prophet on the earth today to recieve revelation from God for His people. I know that each of us can pray and ask God whether Thomas S. Monson is His chosen prophet today. Pay attention to how you feel when you pray. We receive answers to prayer through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead and speaks to each of us differently, usually through thoughts or feelings in our hearts. The Holy Ghost will always testify of truth. If you wish to know more about Thomas S. Monson and what kind of person he is, I highly suggest watching the video, "The Lord's Errand. " It will give you more information about who President Monson is. I hope that you will take my challenge to find out for yourself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is led by a living prophet. Show more Show less
