Hi I'm Geoffrey Halversen

I'm from Southern Indiana, was a wilderness therapy backpacking guide in Southern Utah and a missionary in Austria. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Geoffrey Halversen. I love to wakeboard, ski, snowboard, and go camping. The desert is my paradise! I love the southwest and I will never stop exploring. I worked in southern Utah as a Wilderness Therapy Backpacking Guide and I loved it very very much. I helped to manage the therapy of young single adults and youth between the ages of 13 and 27. I helped keep them safe, taught them primitive skills, and developed lifelong friendships while helping them to find peace and hope through this recreational therapeutic technique. It was incredibly fulfilling and I was able to see so many people change their lives for the better. I fell in love with the desert and developed an incredible appreciation for our Heavenly Father's creation! I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in the Alpine German-speaking Mission. I am currently serving in a city call Innsbruck, Austria! It is a beautiful city just nestled in the Alps. I have been on my mission for 23 months now and have served in Bad Säckingen, Germany, Vienna, Austria, Salzburg, Austria, Dornbirn, Austria, and am now in Innsbruck, Austria. I love my mission very much and it will continue to influence me for the rest of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the true and necessary principle of agency. I want to believe in eternal families. I want to believe in one united church led by Jesus Christ himself. I want to believe in not only Mercy but also in Justice and principles such as accountability and responsibility. I want to believe in a Plan of Salvation. I want to believe that Eternal Life is only worth it because this life is difficult and is a test. I want to believe that the scriptures are a true and moving force in my life that apply to me and what I am doing right now. I want to believe that Jesus Christ wrought an infinite atonement that gives every child of God the opportunity, not certainty, of returning to our Heavenly Father. I want to believe that there is a church on the earth today that is the same organization that Jesus Christ primitively founded. I also want to believe in principles such as love, charity, hope and faith. I want to believe in patience, diligence, obedience, virtue, knowledge, and tolerance. I want to believe that I have a close and personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. This is why I am a Mormon. Because these are the things that Mormons believe .

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary for the church. My purpose as a missionary, very simply, is to invite people to partake in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it is in this church, the one and only true church, that the fullness of the Gospel is found. I have such a desire to share this with other people. I have been spending the past 2 years getting to know people from all over the world in the very multicultural nation of Austria. I have been helping them to understand the message of the restored gospel. I offer them the most precious thing that I have in my life and hope and pray that they humble themselves and experiment upon this wonderful message. I know that my time as a full-time representative of Jesus Christ will soon come to an end. I will, however, not give up my pursuit of spreading this wonderful gospel. I know that the Lord will bless me and others because of it. I also desire to spread this message through my example. The Lord has given us our agency to choose. Our decisions can have such an incredible effect on those around us. I want to be someone on whom others can rely. Wherever I am, I want to bring confidence, hope, and optimism to the world around me. I know that as I stay strong in the Gospel that I will be able to have this effect. I desire to perform faithfully in my present and future responsibilities such as full-time missionary, father, and husband. I know that the Lord will bless me with all that I need as I stand ready to serve him and his children, my brothers and sisters.
