Hi I'm Jessyca

I grew up in Utah, played softball in college, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely LOVE sports! I had a particular passion for basketball and softball. I played both in high school and had the choice of which one to play in college. I chose softball. I played at a junior college for two years and decided instead of furthering my sports career, strengthening my relationship with my Father in Heaven was more important. So I have been called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Although this journey has not been easy. I grew up in a broken home. I was abused and transported to many family members homes. Although I was greatly blessed by my Heavenly Father to have gotten out of the abusive situation and had many supportive family members helping me. I recently received anxiety, depression, and OCD. But have been blessed to find very helpful medication and also support from many people. My Heavenly Father has looked out for me in many amazing ways. And it is incredible to look at the blessings I have received from staying true and faithful to what I know to be true. I have grown to love people and the fight it takes them to go through this test down here on earth. I love helping and talking with others. I love my incredible family and friends. But most of all, I love this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I, like many others, have had doubts. I got baptized when I was 8 years old but did not have a true testimony about this church. When I was 10 years old, I decided to receive my own testimony of this gospel. I prayed many days but did not receive an answer. When I was about to give up, my answer came. But it did not come in a small way. Since that night when I was 10 years old, I cannot and will not deny that there is a God. And that he can and will answer your prayers. Since that night I have had many trials come into my life, but like our dear prophet Joseph Smith, when his answer came his life was not easy. But he could not deny what he saw. I know that God lives. And so does his son Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a man called from God to restore this amazing gospel to the earth. And through Joseph's strength and faith in our Savior, he did all that was required of him. I know that our answers can be answered, but only if we have enough faith and are willing to act on the answer we will receive. God will not give us more than we can handle, and he will deliver us from our trials and afflictions if we just endure and show him our loyalty to him. I know that trials are given to us for our own good. I know how much we can learn from our trials and without them, we cannot learn to be perfected like our incredible Savior Jesus Christ. And once we endure, and are faithful, we will be able to live eternally happy with our Master. Heavenly Father never said it would be easy, He only said it would be worth it. I testify these things are true in the name of our incredible beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have had the privilege of serving in many different areas in the church. I have been able to serve and lead the adults as well as with young children. I am currently a teacher for the four year old class. And what a joy it has been to see their incredible spirits light up the room. I find myself looking forward to Sundays where i get to spend two hours with them and their bright faces. I have also recently been called to serve as a missionary. Which I am very eager to get started. In addition to church callings, I like to live my faith outside of the church buildings. I try to visit the elderly home as much as I can. I love talking with them and keeping them company. I also like to help my family members who may be struggling in one way or another. I find that serving others and having a sincere desire of charity can bring you true happiness. The thing that I think I try to do the most to live my faith and to spread my faith is by being an example. I strive every day to keep the commandments and do what my Father in Heaven and my Savior would want me to do. I try not to judge others and their actions but show them love and kindness so they know they are not alone. I find myself happiest when I am truly loving others without judgement.
