Hi I'm Jacob Andrew Perry

As a missionary, I am a representative of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Santa Monica, California. I moved to Utah as a kid and have lived here for 10 years. I am a sophomore at Weber State University. I have played the viola for nine years, and teach orchestra at a charter school. I also work as an electrical apprentice. My parents are divorced, and have both remarried. Because of this, I have two biological sisters, two step-brothers, and four step-sisters. Two of my siblings have served missions before me, and I am honored to continue this excellent tradition.

Why I am a Mormon

Many Mormons have incredible stories of their 'Aha!' moment in which the Gospel clicked in their mind, but for me, I don't remember there ever being a time that I didn't believe. I was raised in this wonderful church and have been guided along by an outstanding group of friends, mentors, leaders, and family members. There is no way I couldn't know this church is true. So much light and understanding has come into my life as a result of the Gospel, and to credit all the good in my life to luck, chance, or coincidence would make me naive. I have seen the light and warmth of the truth, and I desire to spread this message to all who will hear it. Of whom much is given, much is required. Because of my exposure to the Gospel, it would be incredibly selfish of me to not pass it on.

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve as a full-time missionary in the Guatemala City South Mission. Currently, I am in training at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. I chose to sacrifice two years of my life to serving the Lord and the people of Guatemala because I firmly believe that it will bring blessings beyond our capacity. For me, living my faith has always been achieved by serving others and trying to live as Christ did. I understand that I am always in need of constant renovation, and the Gospel brings me a way to progress.
