Hi I'm Michael

I'm a college student. I'm an Air Force brat. I'm an outdoor enthusiast. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born into a military family and spent most of my childhood living around the world. I now attend a university and am pursuing a degree in biology to set me up for dental school. I have the aspiration of serving in the Air Force as a dentist. I love traveling and visiting new places and trying new things. I am not a picky eater and will try just about anything. I enjoy cold weather and love the beauty in the late fall, winter and early spring. I also really enjoy playing sports and doing outdoor activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that we have a loving Heavenly Father who desires the best for us, his children. I feel that our loving Heavenly Father desires us to live good lives so that we can become like him and he teaches us how to do that through the words of prophets in the scriptures. I have read the Book of Mormon and believe it to be true scripture given to prophets in the ancient Americas. Everything just makes sense when I use the Book of Mormon in conjunction with the other scriptures. I see God's love for me and others and I understand what I should to not only make him happy but what I can do to be a better person, the person He wants me to be. I believe that we will all face challenges and adversity but this is for our benefit to help us learn, grow and progress. I have seen in my life that I am able to overcome the challenges I face with a positive attitude and a peace while I am wading through my struggles as I rely on the words of the prophets, anciently and modern. I know that my story is not unique and many have found the peace and comfort they desire by drawing closer to God and learning more about him. I see the importance of the scriptures in my life and am grateful to live in a time where there are living prophets and all the scripture that we have available to us.

How I live my faith

I was taught at a young age the importance of helping others and how service towards others is a way we can serve God. I think there is no greater joy than seeing the happiness you bring into someone's life when you help them. I had the opportunity to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I enjoy the many opportunities to serve that I have received through a service oriented church.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Michael
If the message we have is true, which I believe it is, then we have the most important information concerning who we are, why we're here and where we go after we die. As a missionary I proselyted to share this great message with all who would listen to me. We have a unique message that offers something that no other religion can offer and because we have this "gem" we want to share it with everyone. Missionary service is voluntary and those who are out there are sharing something that has blessed their life and helped them draw closer to God. We share this message out of love for our fellow man and the desire for all to be happy by learning about God and how we can be closer to him. At the end of the day we respect the views, opinions and beliefs of others we are only out proselyting to share something that has had a positive impact in our lives and can do the same for anyone who hears it.
