Hi I'm Michael

I am a Wakeboarder. I am a Diver. I love bright colors. I grew up in Frederick Maryland. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up trying out a lot of different activities and sports. None of them really motivated me. So i would become averagely skilled at one and then move on. Until High School when I found the sport of Diving which I loved but never pushed myself hard enough to be the best I could. At this time in my life I really started to dive into the Gospel of Jesus Christ and into the holy scriptures. Through reading I came across many scriptures that discuss the importance of hard work and lack of slothfulness. One of them that really hit me when i read it was Romans 13:11-12; "And that, knowing that the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than we believed." This scripture opened my eyes and sent me on a path that lead me to serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving others and hoping that I have not slept for too long and I still can through love help others "cast off the works of darkness." I want to help others do the same and feel the joy I have.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church makes me a better person. What is taught, if followed, can make the worst person on world the best person anyone has ever met. I have seen this very thing happen to new members, and i know they are so thankful they have become a Mormon. Another reason is because i know that this church is true. There was one time I learned about how to know God's will for you to pray. And that through prayer all of your questions will be answered. After i learned this I went to a place where i could be alone. i knelt down and poured out my soul to God about my doubts, my fears, all of my questions about if this was the only true church, if Christ really suffered for my sins, and how i could be forgiven for them. I prayed for what felt like hours but was only about 45 minutes untill i felt the happiest feeling i ever felt. and words came to my mind from the scriptures. i will not say the scripture but it answered all of my questions. that is how i know this is the true church, that Christ loves myself and everyone else, even the sinner, and that we can be forgiven for our sins. I know that i anyone wants to know the truth that they can pray and God Will answer them through the Holy Spirit.

How I live my faith

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, there is presented many chances to serve the community and individuals. Service and Charity are essential principals in the Gospel, and i try to take every chance that is given to serve. It doesnt matter to me if we are helping someone move, doing a run for less fortunate, or visiting with people who might be lonely. One of the responsibilities I volunteered for is a hometeacher, where I am assigned a few families or individuals and I make sure that there needs are being met, both physical and spiritual. This hasn't always been easy but when I feel the love Christ has for them through serving them I know that it is always worth it. I am also now serving as a missionary of this church. By helping others feel the love of God in their life, I can feel Gods acceptance of me.
