Hi I'm Evan Hopper

I'm a swimmer, a singer/song writter. I love ultimate frisbee, paintball, biking, and...you guessed it...i'm a Mormon!!

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I teach people about the truth of the restored Gospel. I teach them about the same exact church the Christ established when He was here on the Earth. I teach people about how their families can be together forever. I want to see other people happy, and that is why i am out serving God. I love my family, because they are so very important to me in this life. I love how the Church focus's on families and how they can be together in the life to come. I am a swimmer. I absolutely love the water. It is like my second home. And i also love to play guitar, even though i'm not good at all. There was a time in my life where i wasn't happy with who i was, and the way my life was going. I would constantly think about what i wanted instead of what other people needed. I wasn't worried about anyone else but me, and all it did was even make me more depressed. It wasn't until i had been out serving my mission that i realized that i had overcome it by not worrying about myself, but worrying about the needs of others. I'm proud to say that i overcame depression because of the Saviors example. He helped me see that serving everyone else can make you happy, and that is why i am a missionary, and that is why i am now happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon, because i know through the power of the Holy Ghost that this is God's church on the earth today

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the my example to others. I try to be as Christlike as possible so that others can see me and know that i represent our Saviour. I show my faith by everyday going and telling people about how God has once again called a prophet to the Earth, and that there is a living prophet today. I know there is a prophet today, and that prophet is Thomas S. Monson. I know that he leads and guides this Church with the power and authority from God. I know that the power and authority is necessary for the organization of Christ's church upon the Earth. Without that authority, we would be lost.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Evan Hopper
The reason we have Apostles is to help lead and guide the church today. Just like Christ called his Apostles, He still calls them today to help direct his church and to teach people. They are the only ones with the authority and call from God himself to guide the affairs of the Church. Would you listen to an ice cream man that pulled you over on the side of the rode? would you accept his ticket? I know i wouldn't lol, but what if a highway patrolman pulled you over? There is no disputing that ticket, because he has authority given to him by the state. The same with the Apostles today, they have that authority given to them from God to do the things he wants done. They don't just say "We're gonna do this..." they pray about it and ask God what he wants done, because God knows all. Show more Show less
