Hi I'm Olivia

I work with people who have disabilities. I'm a student and a dancer. I live for the great outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Murray, Utah. I am the youngest of 5 kids and now we are all scattered around the United States. My mom still lives in the Salt Lake City area and my dad lives in Colorado. I have danced my whole life and I absolutely LOVE it. I love to do anything that gets me into the great outdoors, like hiking, skiing, and rock climbing. I love to think about how Heavenly Father created such a beautiful world just for our enjoyment, and then I go enjoy it. I feel His love so much when I am outside. Now, I'm studying Special Education at BYU and I work at a company with people who have disabilities. This is my passion. I can't imagine doing anything else. The sweet souls that I surround myself with every day remind me that there is so much more to life and that I should always be happy and thankful for all of the amazing things and people around me. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has trusted me with some of his most precious children. They have changed my life and I want to do everything in my power to make this world a better place for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it has brought me so much happiness. It's not a secret that life can be so hard sometimes. It has been no different for me. Even though I'm pretty young, I have had my share of bad days and trying times. Some of these difficult experiences include my parent's divorce, death and illness, terrifying roommates, broken bones, hard break ups, and difficult interactions with people at work. Perhaps one of the hardest things I have overcome was watching the majority of my siblings fall away from the church. I still can't wrap my mind around why or how you could walk away from something that brings so much peace and happiness in a world full of stress. Through all of these hard times the gospel has been my rock. I have turned to the teachings of the prophets so hard. One of my favorite quotes is from President Uchtdorf's talk called Of Regrets and Resolutions. It says that "no matter our circumstances, no matter our challenges or trials, there is something in each day to embrace and cherish. There is something in each day that can bring gratitude and joy if only we will see and appreciate it." I am a Mormon because it has taught me how to be happy even though life can be hard. I am a Mormon because it is through the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that I can reach my potential. I am a Mormon because it has taught me that I am important, I am a Daughter of God, and because it is how I feel His love. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

"You can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips." I am a strong believer that every action you make is a huge indicator of who you are and what you believe in. I also believe that people around you will always notice the choices you make and the things you do. Because of this, I try to always be kind and accepting of people around me. I try to live a Christ-like life. I try to be a good example and show how much I love my Savior by all of the decisions I make. I want to show people how good it is to be a Mormon just by being me. In the end, I want to be remembered as a happy person with a big heart and an even bigger testimony that was shown through every choice I made in my life.
