Hi I'm Nick

I grew up never going to church. I will be the first in my family to go on mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Nick. I love to play, or try to play, just about any sport. I enjoy taking part in many outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, skiing, and water activities, etc. I completely enjoy taking part or watching any musical performance, theater shows, etc. I am also a huge nerd who loves science, with the hope to someday becoming a cardiologist. I was recently called to serve in the Nevada Reno Mission, where I will be speaking Spanish. I am very excited to serve the Lord!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know what it is like to live without the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. My parents are divorced, and I lived with my mother when I was younger. During this time I never went to church, and I lived in a broken home and I was miserable. I had made many mistakes in my early years because I simply wanted to fit in and feel accepted by others. However, when I was twelve years old my older brother and I decided to move to live with our father. My dad is a great man, and he is the one who truly introduced me to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! He took me to church every week, and he gave me the opportunity to feel of God's love for me! Over the years I have been able to become converted to Christ's gospel, and I have been able to come to know for myself that this church is the true church upon the earth. I know that this is the same church that Jesus Christ created while he was on the earth, and it was truly restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God! The Book of Mormon contains the fulness of the gospel and by reading and praying about its teachings, we can come to know for ourselves that it is true. As we pray to know if this gospel is true, the Holy Ghost testifies to us and tell us that it is true! I have been able to come to know for myself that this church is true, and I have been able to draw closer to my Savior Jesus Christ through that great knowledge! I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

How I live my faith

I have many opportunities to participate in my community and ward. The church constantly is providing opportunities for its members to take part in service projects and activities. I love to take part in these projects because it makes me feel great as I serve others. When I serve I feel Christ's love for those I help, and I know that what I am doing is the right thing. While I prepare to serve a mission for the church, one great activity I take part in is going teaching with the missionaries in my ward. By doing this, I help take part in the grow of the church in the area in which I live. I have a great opportunity to help others come to know of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter Day Saints. By teaching with the missionaries, I have the ability to possibly change someone's life forever. I know the church is true, and I love helping others come to know of that truth for themselves.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

After the death of the Apostles and many other righteous Church members, the Lord removed his precious church and the priesthood authority from the earth. Over time men tried to form Christ's church upon the earth again, but without the priesthood authority the Church did not function as Christ had established it. Even though good men tried to reform Christ's church, many simple and beautiful truths were lost and forgotten. The Restoration of the Gospel was important because God established His church upon the earth again to its fullness. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the exact same church that Jesus Christ established when He walked on the earth. The Gospel is the same, the priesthood is the same, and all the forgotten truths have been restored! Show more Show less
