Hi I'm Chris Haggett

I joined the church in 1989 and soon became inactive but in 2007 I returned to activity with my family and I am a Mormon

About Me

I have been active since 2007 after almost 17 years of inactivity. I was blessed to have wonderful missionaries take their time to visit with me and my family while I was inactive and help us to focus on our family. I maintain communication systems throughout eastern NC and I truly enjoy the work I do and the people I have been blessed to work with.

Why I am a Mormon

My testimony of this church has grown tremendously over the years since I returned to service in this beautiful organization. I probably joined the church for the wrong reasons, but it was a spark that was put into my heart for a purpose that was not to be realized until later. I spent years doing things that would not be pleasing unto our Heavenly Father or my father, but that is all part of the purpose of coming to this Earthly existence. In 2007 several missionaries entered the lives of me and my family and through perseverance that I have never seen, we were able to receive the lessons from the missionaries and I was able to Baptize my wife later in 2007 after about 6 months of meeting with the missionaries. In 2008 me and my family became an eternal family in the Raleigh, NC temple. In 2009, I baptized my son and in 2011 I baptized my daughter. Why am I a Mormon? It is all about my family and I being together forever and doing the things that our wonderful Heavenly Father has commanded. I enjoy being with people that truly try their best to follow the commandments and see that we have them for a reason. I know that our Heavenly Father has not forsaken us and left us without guidance. Throughout time God has placed Prophets on the earth and I know that he has not stopped doing so. I love knowing that my Bishop (similar to a Pastor) and other leaders fulfill their assignments out of love of their brothers and sisters and not out of receiving a paycheck. This is truly a lay ministry that I love and will continue to participate in. I know God lives, Jesus Chris lives, and we are guided this day by them through the Holy Ghost and a wonderful Prophet named Thomas S. Monson. I know that I will be together with my family as long as I live up to the covenants I have made with my Heavenly Father. I know that my Stake President and Bishop are truly called of God to do the work of God here on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a President in one of our groups that is made up of mostly 20-50 year olds and we strive to support our church family and local community through various service projects and other activities. I have had several callings over the years and each brings new challenges and wonderful blessings. Our focus is on our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit and we do this through study and sharing our testimony of those things that have happened in our lives.
