Hi I'm Spencer Taylor

I'm an Engineering student and an adventurer with ideas to change our world for the better!

About Me

I have always loved to learn! I like to know how everything around me works and fits into the big picture, including me and God. I have learned a lot, and continually realize that I know so little. I wanted to be an inventor since I was little. Of course I wanted to be Mowgli, a Navy Seal, and a National Geographic photographer too, but inventing has always stuck out to me. I am an engineering student because I really want to make a positive impact in our world. I believe we are in an amazing time of human history where almost anything really is possible. I married an amazing women who cares about what I care about, and we have a cute little girl who brings loads of laughs and smiles into our lives. I also love America and believe it was founded with God's inspiration, and that it is our duty to uphold it in truth.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that everyone has to pass a spiritual barrier, sooner or later. It may just be a gate for some, but we must pass through it. We have to decide whether or not God is real and whether He cares about what we do with our lives. I hit that wall and I knew that I had to decide for myself, regardless of what anyone else on earth said. I tried to step back and remove any preconceptions I had. I simply pondered about God and my life, and I came to a profound realization that I have always believed in Him and knew that I wanted to do good. I then realized that the question He wanted me to ask was what I should do for Him? If I am to "feed His sheep" and "learn of him" as He taught in the New Testament, I need to find His church. It is easy for me to see the confusion and disagreement between Christian churches. That brings us to the book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith. If the book is true than the church and doctrine that came from it are also from God. I believe Joseph Smith was honest and faithful, and I believe that the power of the Book of Mormon is undeniable. Not to discredit Joseph Smith, but he was a tool in God's hand and could not have written the Book of Mormon on his own. I truly believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His kingdom on the earth to bring service and strength to all individuals and families. I know that He has put me where I am so that I will use His church to strengthen my family and help other families like my own grow closer to Him. I know that He wants every soul to come unto Him and be comforted, and I have absolute confidence in this wonderful Church of His.

How I live my faith

My Savior is my motivation to live a faithful and productive life. I really try to be honest and have integrity. I have seen it come back around and bless me in my own life. I know it is not wasted. I try to help out in my community... I vote, knowing that if we all think our vote doesn't count one day it won't. I'm active in my church by accepting volunteer positions in teaching the scriptures, helping with the youth, and supporting others in their positions. I'm human and I know that I can only do great things with Jesus Christ's help. I try to do what He would have me do, and it is often hard, especially in our crazy world. I just keep on keeping on and all things seem to continually fall into place when the dust settles. That's not all, I see my faith and love increase as I continue forward. It is absolutely worth it and it brings the happiness I've always looked for.
