Hi I'm Austin

I grew up in Wyoming. I study business at Harvard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to create new things, and I like all sorts of activities that feed the soul, such as spending time in the outdoors, reading / watching / discussing quality things, and playing strategy games with other eager young minds. I especially enjoy sea kayaking, skiing, and triathlon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe God has restored and is restoring many plain and precious truths through the Mormon church. I believe the church is God's vehicle for teaching his children in the plainest ways, and for ensuring that His children (us) receive the ordinances and have the experiences we each require for our salvation, i.e. to return to God's presence and live with Him in joy after this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each week, and trying to fulfill my callings. Right now I'm the "ward employment specialist," which means I help members of my ward progress in their careers in any way that I can. More importantly, I maintain a daily relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer, daily conversations about God and my personal standing before Him, and by looking for opportunities to carry out God's will around me. Very often this simply means contributing to good causes, but now and then the Spirit directs me to do or say something specific and meaningful to an individual, and these are very special moments, the true substance of life.
