Hi I'm James

I'm a nerd, I love the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have completed 5 semesters of college and am currently serving a mission in Jacksonville, Florida and loving it! I love Physics and can be pretty nerdy at times. I love going to plays, dancing and listening to music. More than anything, I love being in nature. I love to paintball or airsoft, and I love just being outdoors. I really admire the beauty of the earth. Hiking, stargazing, and watching sunsets are some of my favorite things in the world to do! I have a big family, I'm number 11 out of 13. I was adopted into the family while I was in high school. Things were really rough for a long time in my life, and I've experienced a lot of hardships, but I'm grateful for them now that I look back on it. It's helped make me stronger and more able to love and appreciate those around me. I know that whether you're born into a family, or you come to find one as I did, there is no difference, and love is the same.

Why I am a Mormon

I have prayed about it and Heavenly Father told me it was true. I don't need to see Christ in order to know He is there, I feel my Saviors love in every corner of my heart. The Book of Mormon has helped improve my life in so many different ways, especially concerning family relations. I love how central the family is to everything. What better place to learn and to grow and to experience happiness than in the family! Knowing that families can be together forever is something that has changed my life forever for the better. It's made me want to be as kind and loving to my family as possible, and that has helped us build stronger bonds with one another. If there's love and happiness in the home, then nothing in the outside world can stand in your way. I feel a personal connection to Christ as I study from the Bible alongside with the Book of Mormon. I know that Christ atoned for our sins and died for us because He loves each and every one of us. It's so comforting to know that no matter what happens to me in this life, I'll never have to walk alone, that there is someone who felt this same way many years before.

How I live my faith

In the book of James in the Bible, it says that faith without works is dead. It's not enough to say you have faith because faith is an action. I show my faith by living it! I'm far from perfect, (my siblings will tell you that) but life is meant to be lived, and by living, we learn. If we live to learn, we'll learn to love, and when we learn to love, we'll love to live. I do all I can to help others, whether that means yard work, running errands, or just taking time to listen. I love talking about how much the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has helped me in life and how I know it will help others. Now that I'm on a mission, I have the opportunity to tell everyone all the time! More than anything, I try to be an example and live as my Savior would have me do. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for everyone, and will never forsake us. That gives me great comfort and strength. I love my Savior, I know that He is risen and lives today!
