Hi I'm Mackenzie

I love my family, a lingua de portuguese, black labs, sunshine and serving as a full time missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a gregarious college student attending a little school in southeast Idaho. I love playing all kinds of sports and being active or doing whatever I can to burn off all the energy I seem to have all of the time. I love being outside whether it's skiing on the slopes or playing soccer outside at a park with friends-if there's a ball involved and it's a competitive game, I'm there! I love to read books and listen to music when I'm a mellow mood- I think all of us need some down time through out the day to keep us sane :) I've also recently discovered how much I love to cook! Now I'm certainly no expert, but I sure do enjoy experimenting in the kitchen. I absolutely love to watch room mates and friends try what I've created and watch their reactions-hopefully positive. I also just like food....especially foreign food-mainly thai-I can't seem to get enough of that delicious phad thai or an Indian curry! All in all I'm social, bold and pretty silly-I love love love making people laugh, that is one of my greatest joys in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm grateful to be a Mormon. I was born and raised in a Mormon family-but had that not happened, I would wish that I would've discovered the church in some manner knowing what the gospel of Jesus Christ has done for me. The atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ is the greatest gift to mankind. I know that we are imperfect beings and we make mistakes all the time-every single day. BUT we don't have to dwell on our faults! We have the opportunity to change, to become better and more like Jesus Christ who was completely and utterly perfect. Perfection seems unrealistic to most of us, but it is possible through the infinite power of the atonement of Christ. He asks us to come and follow Him. As we get up after we fall He is the one pulling us to our feet. I know this because like many I've made mistakes and experienced hard things in my own life and the ONLY reason why I'm happy through out everything I've experienced is because of this knowledge of Christ. He is the reason I can and will get up everyday and feel peace in my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the Good News that brings everlasting joy and peace to all. "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life" John 4:14 This a promise from Jesus Christ. Through Him there are no dead ends, or unmarked trails. His way is straight and narrow, but it is clear.

How I live my faith

Everyday is another opportunity to live the life that God has given me. I know that every choice I make matters. It matters to Heavenly Father and so I try and go about my days with a positive, pro-active attitude always looking forward. We were not put on this earth to twiddle our thumbs and watch the days go by. I try to learn and seize opportunities that the Lord gives me to grow and become better. I love to share my happiness and energy with others and hope they too can feel loved! I am currently serving as a missionary for 18 months in the Michigan Detroit Mission and will eventually go to Brazil to serve the Lord as a missionary there as well. I live my faith everyday by going out and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone I come in contact with. My purpose is invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through Faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. Our Heavenly Father wants us to return back to Him, and I am grateful to share this knowledge of our Heavenly Father's plan with other people. The hope and joy that comes into my life from the gospel is something I want to share with others.
