Hi I'm Zach

I live in Kansas City, I'm 19 years old and preparing to serve a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and really just your average ordinary kid. I go to work, hang out with friends, and have a good time. I have fun wherever I go and truly try to make everyone around me feel special. I am a 2012 graduate and since then have just worked to save for my mission. Growing up I always found myself playing whatever sport was in season, and as I grew older played percussive instruments and really found a joy in doing that. I was on the drum line in high school, and all types of activities that involved playing drums. I've been in rock bands, and jam bands. I love music, and love hearing what others have to say about the music they listen to, and what kind of music they listen too. The greatest experience I have had with music happened at the Cultural Event for the Kansas City, Missouri Temple. I was able to play the drums for the performance, and participate in other activities with the performance. I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and find joy in inviting others to come unto Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy that it brings me in my life, and the life of my family. I know that I can be with them forever, and there is no joy to me greater in this life than that. For a period in my life, I wasn't so strong in the church. I didn't attend my seminary classes, and just went through the motions at church and at church activities. I thought I could be happier if I lived my life another way, and that I could find that same happiness living that way, but I couldn't. I wasn't as happy and it really hurt some relationships that I had. I have seen people change right before my eyes because of the fullness of the gospel. I have seen a change in myself, and will never do anything that will make me feel the way I did. If you ever feel like something is missing, or you feel like its time to give up, don't. Turn your head toward your Heavenly Father, he know you by name and he loves you, and will answer your prayers, I know that he does, because I have witnessed it in my own life. I know that those around me can feel the same joy and happiness that I feel. This is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know Heaven Father sent his son to atone for our sins, and through that atonement we can return to our Heavenly Father. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and the Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. This knowledge is what brings such joy into my life, and it is why I am going to serve a mission. If I can help but one soul have this same feeling in their life, my mission will have been a success. The best choice I have ever made in my life was to simply kneel down in prayer to ask Heavenly Father if it is true. With confirmation from the Holy Ghost, it was manifested to me that it is. I know you can have this same amazing experience. I know this church is true, and that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it, and I cannot deny it, nor will I. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to others. I participate in service projects helping the less fortunate in our community, and other community organizations. I never hide the fact that I am a Mormon, anyone who knows me, knows me as such. I spend almost every moment I am awake studying and talking about the gospel. As a missionary our purpose is to invite other to come unto Christ. We also invite them to inquire of this for themselves. We invite them to ask questions, to read from the Book of Mormon, and to pray about what we have been talking to them about.
