Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in a small town in Idaho, USA. I love to read and spend time outdoors. I'm a stay-at-home mom. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of five children. I grew up riding horses on my grandpa's farm and popping the heads off dandelions during the summer. I went to college in Idaho and fell in love with a good ol' Virginia boy. I am the mother of two sweet little girls, with a third baby on the way. I am a stay-at-home mom. I love to read and am absolutely terrified of roller coasters. I love answering questions about my faith and discussing my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me joy. I trust my Father in Heaven and know that His plan is for my family to be together forever. I can't think of a greater blessing to sacrifice and work toward. I know my Savior loves me and wants me to be happy and I feel that love through the teachings of the LDS church. I am a Mormon because I need a living prophet. I need the counsel and guidance for myself and my family that comes through the mouthpiece of the Lord. I know God still speaks to men on earth and that He has always done this through prophets. I trust the things I am taught because I have a testimony of the prophet. I know God cares about mankind and has not forgotten us. I know He still speaks. I am a Mormon because I know my Savior lives. I know He came to earth to experience mortality and teach us by example. I know He has a perfect understanding of every little thing I struggle with and that He knows how to help me be happy. I am a Mormon because I know the church is true.

How I live my faith

In the LDS church, Sunday worship services last for three hours. I love attending my Sunday meetings and work with the elementary aged kids during this time. This is such an exciting age group! They love to sing songs and are eager to learn about their Savior. Their smiles and faith make my service a joy and have taught me to love those I serve. Also, about once a month, I get together with a friend from church and we visit some of the other women from church in their homes. We share a gospel message and are uplifted by each others experiences and faith. I also live my faith by supporting my husband in his service in the church. He works with the Middle and High School aged boys at church and is gone Wednesday evenings to activities and for several additional hours on Sunday for planning meetings. I know we are blessed through our service and that our faith in Christ is strengthened as we make sacrifices to help those around us.
