Hi I'm Jake

I was born and raised in Idaho. I have been called to the Philippines Angeles mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I work at Les Schwab Tire Center in Rexburg, Idaho. In high school I played football as defensive tackle. I also threw shot put and discus. I love to hike in the mountains and wilderness of Idaho. I also hunt every year. I fly fish when the water is not frozen, and when it is, I ice fish.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church with faithful parents who taught, through lessons and example, to love the gospel. However, total conversion has to be done personally. It wasn't until after I had read and studied, and most importantly prayed, to know if this gospel is true for myself that I did receive conformation that this is the right path. I know that Christ is the head of this church, and he calls apostles and prophets to lead his church through modern revelation. I also have faith in the power of prayer. I know that we can pray directly to our Heavenly Father and I know that he loves each of us personally.

How I live my faith

I have been given the responsibility to be an indexer in my church. We index to help family history work by converting photographs of written records into typed text, so that anybody can do a word search for their ancestors. These records help us to learn more about our families and where we come from.
