Hi I'm Annica

I'm a student at Brigham Young University currently preparing to serve a full-time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Oregon and am currently a student at Brigham Young University. I'm studying nutritional science, international development, and pre-medicine. I love to travel and hope to work or volunteer as a physician in underserved communities around the globe. I have a firm belief in my Savior Jesus Christ, and His example and presence guides me throughout my life. Due to the joy that I've experienced from this knowledge, I have chosen to serve a mission and share the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I suggest watching the Mormon Message on YouTube featuring Elder David A. Bednar entitled "Patterns of Light." He describes conversion to the gospel as a sunrise, that slowly illuminates the earth. I am a Mormon because I have seen the light of Christ illuminate my life the more that I rely on Him and follow His teachings and commandments, especially through the counsel of His current prophet on the earth, President Thomas S. Monson. I have found so much joy and happiness through His restored gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I can't imagine going through life without His companionship and love. This gospel makes everything I do meaningful in life. It brings out the good in everyone I meet and everything I experience, because I know how much God loves me and everyone around me. I never need to worry or fear because I have faith that God has a plan for me. There is nothing that can happen in my life that God will not be there for, that my Savior will not be able to understand, and that the Spirit of God will not help me get through. I am never alone.

How I live my faith

I grew up in a family that was very committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so I have always attended church and grown up participating in church and family activities that reflect my faith. The older I get, the more I appreciate the opportunity to share my testimony with and learn from others in my congregation every week. However, the biggest expression of my faith is the commitment I make every day to live and share the light of Christ with those around me. Jesus Christ is my example in every way, and I strive to emulate Him and continue to grow to love others like He does. Soon I will be leaving to serve a full-time mission, and I couldn't be more excited! The gospel brings me so much peace and joy, and I can't think of a better way to help the people of Brazil than by sharing the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.
