Hi I'm Sara Hansen

I grew up in San Diego. I love life and finding happiness every day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student, but I'm preparing to serve a mission in Guatemala City. I was raised in San Diego with a loving family that consistently helps me learn the importance of values and morals. I love music and being active and going on adventures. I love learning about the world around me and I love being a part of it. I love the rain and the sun and (sometimes) the snow. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories and experiences. I absolutely love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, I chose to stay strong in the church for myself. The gospel is the reason for my happiness and God is the most important aspect of my life. I've learned that family is the most valued relationship we can have and through the gospel, families can literally be together forever. The teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ feel right in my heart, and they also make sense in my head. Everybody makes mistakes in their life, but I am comforted by the fact that God wants us to return back to him, so he has sent His son to atone for our sins. I love being a Mormon; it has defined who I am and inspires me to be what I will become.

How I live my faith

I love being a part of my community and being actively involved in events occurring around me. I strive to get to know people around me and to let my faith show in my optimism and actions. I'm excited for the opportunity to meet the people of Guatemala. I try my best to remember that when you "are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." While giving our time may seem like a sacrifice, we realize, in the end, that it was no sacrifice at all.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Sara Hansen
The Bible is written by apostles and prophets of God, it is considered as scripture and the word of God. Along with the Bible, Mormons believe in the Book of Mormon and consider it to be "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." It was written by prophets that lived long ago in the Americas and was translated by the power of God through the prophet Joseph Smith. It is the keystone of our religion and supports the Bible in teaching us about God's eternal plan and purpose. Show more Show less
