Hi I'm Norm

I was born of goodly parents,I love to go camping and fishing,I'm a Jazz fan,and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors, pets and my little family! Not neccessarily in that order. I especially love traveling to new places, exploring, camping and fishing as a family .Spending time at a mountain lake or stream is such a great way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday. I can see the love of the creator in nature's beauty. The gospel that Jesus taught is all about love. That same love is what I feel as I worship weekly and in the holy temples. I have a light- hearted approach to life that helps me to look for the positive. A positive in my life is my testimony of the of the Savior as taught in this church. This is the most precious knowledge I possess. To keep my testimony alive and growing, I try each day to read the scriptures. These ancient and revealed words of God found in the Bible, Book of Mormon and other modern-day writings, guide me as I face life's highs and lows The world is changing so rapidly, but ,one thing does not change....God loves us,and has a plan for us. He has given us a living prophet to guide us today .I find happiness and comfort in that knowledge I am a simple guy and so is my story. I feel blessed to recognize our Heavenly Father's love in my life. His spirit has taught me this gospel holds the power to bring us direction and peace in this world, and promise for the future. My best advice to anyone is...Read the Book of Mormon- Yes ! It's that good!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found the church contains the plain and precious teachings of of the Savior and his plan for us to return to him..I have learned his love is found in the infinite power of the atonement. I rely on that knowledge to reassure me as I fail and start again. The Book of Mormon is truly another witness of Christ and his divine mission. Combining study of the book of Mormon,Bible and other modern revelations brings clarity and continuity to the words of the prophets through time. The blessings offered in Holy temples also give me an added sense of peace, hope and comfort as I know our family can be a forever family. The power of the Preisthood as recognized anciently has been restored to the earth, manifest by a living prophet and apostles just as Christ organized his church on earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints bears not only his name but all the authority, ordinances and blessings that allow God's love to be realized by all who will seek him.

How I live my faith

After serving as a missionary,I spent many years as a youth leader and instructor. The youth of today are a chosen generation.I have been blessed to serve in many church callings. One special opportunity was serving with my wife for several years as advocates of adoption.,The proccess of adoption is dear to us as we were able to adopt our three children through LDS Family Services. I currently serve as a home teacher and leader in our area with an assignment to work with the church education and single adult programs. It is truly a blessing to see how the teachings and programs of the church aid so many .As a member of a multi-regional committee we are able to plan conferences, gatherings and activities to allow single members to interact with many others who share their beliefs and trials. I also am regularly called on to speak in worship services in several of our local congregations(wards). I am strengthened and feel the Savior's love as we share time, and testimony together. I have also greatly enjoyed becoming involved in the geneolgy indexing work of the church. As I work with names of those who have gone before it helps me gain a greater vision of God's plan to unite all his children.
