Hi I'm Casey

I'm a college student, I'm a band geek, and I'd give anything for a good book. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Michigan but have since lived in Vermont and Ohio and am currently attending college in Utah. I have two amazing parents and two younger sisters who are my best friends. I love to read because I believe it opens the mind to new ideas and perspectives. My favorite sport is volleyball, which I played throughout high school. Music is one of my favorite hobbies, with piano being my favorite instrument. However, I also have a passion for marching band where I play the clarinet. I attend Brigham Young University (which the Mormon Church runs) and in my opinion it is the best place on Earth because I can have fun all the time without worrying about whether or not my friends will hold the same standards of living that I do. I have not chosen what I'd like to study in school, but I would love to be able to help other people and make their lives better. Basically, I love my life and I thank God every day for my amazing blessings!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon home, but that is not the reason why I continue to be a part of the Mormon Church. Through prayer and scripture study and regular Church attendance, I gained my own testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on the Earth today. My testimony was not a result of one amazing experience, but rather the combined small experiences over many years of following the Gospel. Jesus Christ was willing to come to Earth and sink lower than any of us EVER will in order to help us return to Heavenly Father. Even though I slip up sometimes, Jesus is still standing with open arms, waiting for me to come to Him and let Him heal me and my mistakes. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the true Gospel to the Earth today. I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that if we follow its doctrine, our lives will be filled with more peace and love and confidence. I know that life is not easy and sometimes we feel like giving up because it is really hard! But I also know that all our trials come for a reason and that we should be always see what we can learn from them. God lives and He loves us and this life is simply a way for us to return to Him.

How I live my faith

I strive hard to live my faith every day. I do this in many ways. I dress modestly because I respect myself and the body Heavenly Father has given me. I study hard in school so that someday I might use my talents to bless others. I attend all Church meetings because I want to learn as much as I can about the life of Christ. I do my best to make friends with everyone around me because I know how important it is to lift up others and make them feel of worth. I am willing to discuss my religion with any of my friends that is curious. I try very hard to make the scriptures applicable to my life. Basically, I know I am far from perfect but I am still striving to do what Heavenly Father and Jesus want me to do. I have recently been called to serve a full-time missionary for the Church! I have been called to the Spain Malaga Mission! I leave in July and could not be any more excited to share my testimony with the Spanish people!
