Hi I'm Mike

I live in Idaho. I run a business in Idaho Falls. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Happily married father of four and grandfather of 12! I am a Utah boy... but adopted Idaho as home 38 years ago. I have too many hobbies and passions and all of them involve being outdoors. Fishing, skiing, golfing, hiking, hunting, boating, snowmobiling, old cars and exploring all the roads and trails that Idaho has to offer on anything that has an internal combustion engine. To me, none of these activities really takes a priority as long as I am sharing the adventure with someone who is important in my life. I have been richly blessed with great kids and grandkids who are always game for anything that I am up to on a certain day. I am also most fortunate to have a great wife who actually does most of the above with me and in many cases does them much better than me.

Why I am a Mormon

My entire life I have been blessed with an innate knowledge that there is a God. It is sometimes hard for me to explain that statement ....that I have always known. From a series of very personal experiences, thoughts, and feelings.... I have always known. Knowing that, just moved me to the next question. If He does exist and He has a purpose, then it only stands to reason that it is incumbent upon us to find out His plans and His purposes because they most probably are intertwined with ours. I want to tell the world---that this life is wonderful even with its challenges--and that nothing compares to the experiences of being a parent...and then a grandparent --- but if we understand who God is and then catch a glimpse of who we really are, then the question begs an answer "Is there More?" and if I could tell all around me "Why I am a Mormon" it would be just this. With all that is good and beautiful in this life....there is More. With all that we enjoy in our families and associations.....there is More. With all the greatness and truth found in every person and religion.....there is More. With all the rewards and accolades that men can give to other men.....compared to the rewards and blessing that a loving God and Heavenly Father can bestow on his children.....there most certainly is More! Because of Him and the One that He sent to die for us, the only One who could die and then live for us, we have a message that is unique yet universal in application. He died not only that we might live but that we might live lives Eternal....which is More than to just live. I bear a sincere testimony that there indeed is MORE..

How I live my faith

For some reason I have always been active and involved in many organizations and opportunities in my church and community. I may have a problem in saying "No!" but I have also found a certain level of satisfaction and joy in serving and being involved. I have discovered great rewards in working with youth-- both in my community and church. Recently I quickly added it up, and found that I had been afforded the great experience to work directly with young people for over 28 years of my adult life. From opportunities as a scoutmaster to working with college students at BYU-Idaho I have been most fortunate to work with those who are most teachable and eager to improve. They have profoundly influenced my life because of their innate desires to do what is right. This same influence is felt as I have experienced the greatest blessings of all, in being a father and grandfather. It doesn't get any better than this!
