Hi I'm Derek

Mountain West-Central America-West-East-West Coast. Finally settled in beautiful California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My most prized roles are those of husband and father. I feel very blessed to have a wonderful wife and three amazing sons. I work hard to provide for my family and try to make time regularly and often to spend with them. I enjoy reading science or history-related non-fiction when I have time, and also enjoy running and cycling.

Why I am a Mormon

I am fortunate to have wonderful parents who raised me as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The seeds of faith that my parents planted have been nourished, starved, accepted, questioned, and finally embraced with a full heart. I have chosen to continue to grow in my faith in Jesus Christ and His restored gospel because I can feel of its truth. I am very grateful to my parents for planting these seeds of faith, and even more grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who has answered my prayers and spoken to my heart regarding these truths.

How I live my faith

I serve in my local church leadership. I help organize Sunday services and get to work with and teach the youth. I particularly enjoy seeing the many acts of service and kindness done by individuals in the church with no accompanying fanfare or publicity. It is wonderful to see others serve from the heart.
