Hi I'm Christian Tidwell

I'm a recreational tree climber, I spent two years volunteering in Africa, I'm an architect in training, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student who loves learning new things, in fact the hardest thing about registering for a new semester is that there's so many course options and opportunities, but only so many hours in a week.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit, the comforter) witness to me that there is a true and living Prophet of God on Earth today and his name is Thomas S. Monson, and that Jesus Christ the Son of God is directing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints through revelation.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply being there when someone is in need of help. I pray everyday that I might be able to recognize those people who I can help, because I'm worried that the rigors and stress of daily life may blind me to the needs of those around me. I just returned from a two year mission to Durban, South Africa and I'm so grateful for this opportunity. Although as missionaries we spend almost every waking hour of this two years trying to help and teach others as Jesus Christ (our example) would; it's funny how by the end of it you feel like you're in even greater debt to the God who has afforded you such a wonderful learning and growing experience. While I was there I had the opportunity to plant gardens, build walls, demolish old structures, build community chicken coops, teach English, fix computers, volunteer at a government clinic for those with HIV/AIDS, and so much more.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Christian Tidwell
As the name of our church testifies, we believe this to be Jesus Christ's Church. We believe it is the same church he established 2000 years ago, however that original church was changed by men shortly after the death of Christ and His apostles. Because God loves us, in 1830 He restored that original church in its perfect form back to Earth. He chose a young man by the name of Joseph Smith as an instrument in this "restoration". Joseph Smith was visited by God our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ His Son, visited by angles, received power from God to translate an ancient scriptural record into English (the Book of Mormon), and eventually was martyred for cause of restoring Christ's church and truth.
