Hi I'm Lara

I grew up in Utah. I love snow and mountains and snowboarding. I'm an avid reader and love being an aunt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived most of my life in Utah, but I love to travel and see the world. I love everything about winter; snowball fights, sledding, snowboarding, Christmas, hot cocoa, etc. I have a passion for learning, and have devoured books since I was a small child. I am a student who hasn't quite figured out what I want to be when i grow up. I have 2 adorable nieces that I love to spoil, and can't wait to be a wife and mother. Right now, I am serving a mission for the church and am so excited for what I am going to learn and how I am going to be able to serve the people I encounter in the next 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a family with deep roots in the church. I was taught the Gospel by my parents as a young child, and growing up I chose to live my life in keeping with the standards of the church. It wasn't until I moved away from home and lived on my own that I really had to figure out for myself if I wanted to continue to live the way I was taught all my life. It was tempting to give into the pressure of the world around me to live a more "fun" lifestyle, like many of my peers. During this time of soul searching to figure out what I really believed, I came to truly understand the power of the Atonement, and realized how much my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and want me to be happy. The only way I have ever found true happiness is by living the teachings of the Gospel, even though it can often be very difficult. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for me, for my sins, my sorrows, and my pain. I have felt his love and strength as I have perservered through trials and difficulties. I know that God wants me to be happy, and he has provided the way to true happiness, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed the opportunity in my adult life to hold various callings in my local congregation. My favorite of these was being a Sunday School teacher. I learned so much about the Gospel through preparing the lessons, and I was continually amazed and grateful at how much I learned from the people I was supposed to be teaching. I love the opportunity we have as members to teach and serve one another. My testimony has grown from the examples of those around me, and I strive to live my life in such a way that others can say the same about me.
