Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm a missionary. I enjoy backpacking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I had been going to school at Brigham Young University before taking some time off to earn money for my missionary service. I enjoy reading sci-fi and fantasy, and I like strategy games, both board games and on the computer. I've gone on a number of backpacking trips with my family, including a 50-miler.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members, and I grew up in the church. I never really doubted that what they taught me was true. However, in my mid- to late- teens, I had a series of experiences that fully convinced me of the truthfulness of the gospel. Nothing very different happened in my life, except that I began to feel the Holy Spirit more. After a talk in Stake Conference, I'd feel the Spirit confirming to me that the things spoken of were true. After my dad gave a priesthood blessing to a sick sister in the hospital, I felt the Spirit testify of God's love for her. I began to feel the Spirit more during regular church meetings and at other times in my life. It may sound goofy or strange, but they were very real experiences that couldn't possibly be mistaken for anything else. I know that God is real. We are His children, and He loves and cares about us. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church in the world today. And if we follow his commandments and never give up trying, we can return to live with Him along with our families.

How I live my faith

I sang in the ward choir and helped to distribute the sacrament during Sunday meetings. I'm currently serving two year mission to preach the gospel in Australia.
