Hi I'm Cassidy

I love traveling, mountains, books, and life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm not a big city girl. I enjoy horseback riding, skiing, running, biking, hiking, camping, and most outdoor activities. While I love being outside, I also enjoy playing/listening to music, reading, writing, art, and movies. I'm a college student majoring in English, but have a passion for medicine...it's complicated...but I love learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to be raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Both of my parents faithfully attend church and are examples to me of righteous living. However, it has always been a choice for me to be a member, a Mormon. Through prayer, scripture study, and obedience, I have learned of the truthfulness of the Gospel and that it is the only way I can return to live with my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, which is the desire of my heart. Because of this knowledge, I am a Mormon, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and I know that through his atonement and resurrection, my sins may be covered if I repent and come unto him. I know that the Book of Mormon has brought me closer to my Savior and I know that it is a true book translated by a prophet of God, Joseph Smith. I know a prophet of God is on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson, and that he receives revelation for the church. I can only say that I feel blessed to have this knowledge and pray that I may be able to share it with others so they may have the joy and hope that I have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be like Jesus Christ and following his teachings. Though I'm a busy college student, I try to make time to serve others and dedicate myself to keeping the commandments and improving each day. The scriptures are with me always and I daily read from them and pray to my Father in Heaven. I attend the temple regularly and am currently preparing to serve a mission for the LDS church.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament and witness of Jesus Christ. He is literally God's son and not only visited those in his ministry recorded in the New Testament, but also the people living in the Americas at the same time following his resurrection. The Book of Mormon contains the writings of ancient prophets in the Americas, those who believed in Christ, prophesied of Christ, and saw Christ. These writings were collected by Mormon, who the record was named after, and preserved for our day. The book testifies of Christ and contains the fulness of his Gospel: it is not meant to replace the Bible, but to support, verify, and compliment it. I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times and prayed, with pure intent and faith in Christ, to know of its truthfulness. I know it is true. I know that anyone who reads and prays with real intent as I did will also know that it is true by the power of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
