Hi I'm Helga

I was born and raised in Brazil. I am a graduate student, and I have a great love for animals. And I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I am a graduate student in a Mass Communication program. I love learning and could be an eternal student! I have a passion for animals and used to rescue and care for them back in Brazil. One day I hope to be able to help them again, and use my knowledge to raise awareness to animal cruelty. I love my family and miss them a lot, since I've been away from them for almost 9 years. I also enjoy dancing, singing, sewing, and traveling. Oh, and smiling :)

Why I am a Mormon

Thanks to my mom, who got baptized in 1969 I was able to get to know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at an early age. My dad is not a Mormon, but my mom kept taking me to Church and taught me about it. When I was 16 I was able to acquire my own testimony of the truth, and I have been so blessed in my life, and also have increased and strengthened my testimony through participation in Church services, prayer, scripture study, service, and friends. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. I am so grateful for Him and for His sacrifice to save all of us. I know that if I follow the principles that I have been taught, and if I am faithful, I will have the opportunity to meet Him and live with Him and with my Heavenly Father again. I am grateful for the blessings that I receive every day, small or large ones.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Activities Committee in my ward. We plan the events that wil integrate the members of our congregation and make them feel welcome. I feel so great when I go to church, where I learn about the Gospel and receive reminders to be a good person and to do my best to live what I believe in. I love helping people and serving them in any way I can.
