Hi I'm Harrison

I'm Canadian. I love cars, and I love jamming on my guitar. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a pretty sweet man-cave in my basement. In said man-cave I rock the electric guitar in a band that my friends and I have formed. Music is an important part of my life. I love singing in choirs, and I love beautiful music. I like running around, perhaps while I kick a soccer ball or throw a football. My three brothers, my dad and I all have a burning passion for cars and motorbikes, and we all collect Hot Wheels cars. Going on adventures, like hiking or camping, is one of my favourite things to do. My heart lies in serving in my Church, and right now I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad and his family were converted to this Church when he was young, and my mom has always been a member of it. Their guidance and faith have had a great influence on me, but I am a Mormon because of my own choices. I needed to know for myself if the Book of Mormon was true, that Joseph Smith was really a prophet of God, and if Jesus Christ truly loves us. I chose to seriously study, ponder, and pray about these things. The Holy Ghost has given me spiritual witnesses that these things are indeed true, through peaceful, joyful feelings in my heart, and thoughts in my mind. I have come to know that the Book Of Mormon is the word of God. I have read it. I know that Joseph Smith was chosen by God to restore Jesus Christ's ancient church to the earth. I know that Jesus Christ loves each of us, and that He wants us to be happy and live with Him after we die. I don't know the very moment that I gained this knowledge, but I can't deny that I have it. Greater light, happiness and love have filled my life by living how Jesus Christ wants me to live, and I love it. I want everyone to have this.

How I live my faith

I make mistakes, just like everybody else. But every time I do, the Saviour Jesus Christ picks me back up and helps me be better. One of my friends has helped me learn this lesson: that God has something in mind for each of us, and with His help and much effort on our part, we can become that. It may seem hard, but if we try we can become better than we think we can be. I live my faith by trying my best to be better, every day. I study from the words of God (the scriptures) every day, and I pray to our Heavenly Father for help to become more like His Only Son, Jesus Christ. I try to always live in a way that exemplifies the teachings that I know to be true. By serving a full-time mission, I'm doing just that. I am sharing what I have come to know as truth with other people not only by talking with them, but by trying to be a good example. I love it.
