Hi I'm Mike

I love music, being outdoors and a good challenge. I have 11 brothers and sisters. I am a missionary in Upstate New York.

About Me

I am currently a missionary in the Upstate New York area. I Love being able to serve others. My family has recently been combined with another, to create one large group of kids. My father passed away in a motorcycle accident when I was 14 and growing up with out a father has been one of the biggest challenges in my Life, but I know that it has helped me grow in so many ways.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and never questioned my beliefs until I was 14 years old. My father was abruptly taken from this Earth in a Motorcycle accident and I blamed God for what had happened. Why would he take my dad away from me in the toughest times of my life. I was lost and confused. I read and searched the scriptures in hopes that I would find something to help me get through the pain. In 1 Corinthians I found a scripture that turned my whole outlook around. It talks about how god will not give us anything we can not take, and how we will not be given a trial that we can not over come. I don't know all of the reasons why I have to live with out my dad around, but I do know that I can handle it and that it is making me a better person through the trials I have to face on a daily basis.

How I live my faith

All my life I was involved in the Boy Scouts of America. My dad helped me to gain this joy and pass it on to others. Although I am no longer in the youth programs, I try to encourage and support my brothers and the boys in the neighborhood to be more involved in their community, church and families. By helping others to understand service, I feel as though I am like the savior who taught to give unto others freely with out searching for personal gain. I enjoy serving others in their needs and I know I have become a better person for it.
