Hi I'm Kara

I'm 19 years old, and I'm serving a mission! And! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up on basketball. I played it my whole life, since I was about five shooting hoops in my driveway. I'm a big fan of playing 1 on 1-I can beat my dad that way. :) I love languages, especially German and Spanish. I studied both of those in high school. I enjoy running, although I haven't done it seriously. I'm hoping to be able to run a half marathon before I leave for my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel taught is true. I am a Mormon because I know that it is Christ's church on the earth today. In the eternal scheme of things, why would anything else matter? This is the true church, and everything else that would be deemed important falls short of that. God the Eternal Father and His Son live. They love. They guide. They help. The scriptures are there for us to receive answers-either through the Bible, the Book of Mormon, or modern-day revelation given to prophets. The church Christ started when he was on the earth is back, with proper Priesthood keys. I was not there to see Christ raise the dead, heal the lame and the afflicted. I did not see Him in the Garden of Gethsemene, suffering for my and the world's transgressions. But I know it did happen. I testify that He will come again, to take His place as Lord of Lords, and King of Kings.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I'm in charge of setting up times for activities such as volleyball, basketball, or anything else that we want to play. It's a lot of fun, working with the local leaders of the church. I'm currently enrolled in an institute class, which I love! It's a really good place to go and learn, and to meet other people.
