Hi I'm Brad

I grew up in Missouri, served in the Vietnam war, retired from the defense industry, now serve my Lord. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Catholic faith, but lost my faith while serving in the Vietnam war. After the war I finished college and got married. When children came I realized the need for religion in my family's life. My search for a valid religion eventually encountered the Mormons. I recognized the truth of what they were teaching, especially the differences from all the other Christian religions such as living apostles and prophets, and the importance of this in our lives today. I learned for myself that the Book of Mormon is a true additional testament of Jesus Christ. Now I am anxious to share this truth with others. I am retired after 40 years working in the defense industry, the last 36 years designing computer control systems for the defense nuclear field. My hobbies are shooting and reloading, and working on computers.

Why I am a Mormon

I investigated many religions and found only one that every teaching made perfect sense to me. Even though I was warned that joining this religion would not mean just coming to church on Sunday, but a big effort in always working to serve the Lord by serving others, both in and out of the church, the truths the church taught overcame all doubts. I have since served in several callings that required me to devote many extra hours to serving, over and above the three hours in church every Sunday. Yet I have constantly had testified to me the importance and the truthfulness of these callings.

How I live my faith

Since converting to the Mormon faith, I have greatly enjoyed serving in the Church, which is entirely oriented toward serving others and helping them both spiritually and temporally. I have had leadership callings in Church groups that have enabled me to better learn how to best serve others. I also enjoy serving in the community and have served as Post Commander of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post. This also involved a great deal of service to others, especially returning veterans from current conflicts overseas. I have also served for several years as the manager of a Legacy Flight Museum helping maintain and fly World War II warbirds, including the P-51 Mustang, the P-63 King Cobra, and the T-6 Texan, and honoring the veterans who have served our nation.
