Hi I'm Allyscha

I call Olympia, Washington my home. I am currently a student at Brigham Young University. I am a Mormon.

About Me

So, a little bit about me! At this very moment I have this amazing opportunity to serve the Lord for 18 months in Budapest, Hungary! I have always dreamed of serving a mission and was super thrilled when I found out I could serve 2 years sooner than I had planned! That announcement was truly an answer to my prayers. I attended Brigham Young University for 1 year before coming out on this mission and found it to be a home away from home! But I do call Washington State my home and that is pretty much where I grew up. I had an amazing opportunity to be a cheerleader for my high school for four years and, apart from the Church, that one activity made me the person I am today. It taught me about teamwork and leadership in no way any other activity could. As much as I loved cheering for those 4 years, music is where my heart is. I love music! I love listening to music! I love singing! Although I sing very poorly. I love dancing to a good beat and I especially love playing the piano! It is a gift that I am very grateful for because I have found it to be an amazing stress reliever for me. Some of my guilty pleasures include chocolate and shopping! And I have been told countless times that I smile too much. But I always found that to be one of my strengths!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I have been asked that countless times. Why are you a Mormon if you can't do this and that? The answer is so simple though. I love being a Mormon! I love having a path to follow with rules and regulations that will lead back to my Heavenly Father. Being a Mormon I know the love God truly feels for me. I know I am his daughter and he is my Heavenly Father. He loves me and will never leave me in my times of darkness. He knows what's best for and never gives up on me. He is waiting for me to come home and has faith that I will choose to come back home. I am a Mormon because I want to return to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I want to live with my family for eternity. I am a Mormon because I know the gospel is true and I cannot deny that feeling. I have seen the blessings of being a mormon and I am happy being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

This may be strange to say, but I live my faith by smiling! Being positive has always been a big priority in my life! I find that no matter how dark of place you may be in there is always some light! Sometimes it might be a small flame in a corner and sometimes it is a light switch that you have to switch on. But it is always there. And that light is our Savior Jesus Christ. I have been through some pretty rough times, not as rough as others, but pretty hard. I would have never been able to get through those times had it not been for the help of my Savior. He was my light and is my light. I knew he would never leave me alone or ever give up on me. When I leaned on Him I knew I could make it a good day. I knew I could smile and show myself and others that no matter what I was going through I could find something good in the day. Through feeling the Savior's love for me I have been able to show his love for others. It might be by just smiling and saying hi to a stranger or helping someone with their day. But I know through smiling and service everyone can feel the love the Savior has for them.
