Hi I'm Jordyn Kealoha Lani Petersen

I love the ocean. I love to smile. I'm part Hawaiian. I'm a returned missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Arizona, grew up in a tiny town in Illinois, last lived in Alabama, and went to college at BYU Hawaii. I'm the oldest of five kids. I love my family, my friends, laughing, meeting new people, having fun, music, and sports. Hiking, cheerleading, huntin, fishin, football, art, surfing, and anything outdoors makes me happy. Especially the beach!!! I'm always smiling! :) And that's not going to change. However my true peace and happiness in life comes from my relationship I have with my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, however I consider myself a convert, a convert to Christ. I had a testimony of the church at a young age, however I wasn't converted to the Lord. I have faced my fair share of trials, struggles, and hardships throughout life and I am no where near perfect. It was at a rough time in my life when I realized I had a decision to make. I then remembered The Book of Mormon. So I read it, then by myself got on my knees and prayed. It was in that moment I felt a warmth and peace like never before. It was confirmed to me personally that God lives and He is our Heavenly Father, that I have a purpose here in this life as do we all, and that The Book of Mormon is true. It was through Jesus' suffering and atonement that I came to know for myself everyone can be forgiven if they repent. I'm not perfect, but because I now have that relationship with my Heavenly Father I try to live my life in a way that He would be proud of and I continue to use the atonement of Christ on a daily basis. We all go through trials and are put in situations that break us down, but the Lord lifts and builds us back up even stronger than before. I know without a doubt that Christ lives, that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and Another testament of Jesus Christ, and that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ is not just a "church", but a way of life, that Christ Himself has established on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is that I served a full time mission in the Los Angeles California at the temple visitors center there. I testify of the peace and happiness that comes from a true relationship with our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Commandments are not to restrict us, but to show faith and be blessed because of our faith. I try to be the best example that I can to show how obedience to God's commandments truly does bring happiness and blessings beyond measure.
