Hi I'm Ishmael Martinez

I grew up in Mexico. I study Business Administration. I served an LDS mission in NYC. I love traveling. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the oldest of two children and the first member of my family to join the Mormon church. I lived my whole life in Chihuahua, Mexico. I had the privilege to serve an LDS mission in New York City, which I loved!! I learned a lot from many cultures and I enjoyed the food from each country, especially Peruvian and Dominican food. I love to travel and to meet people from other countries. I play racquetball and basketball.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with a different belief. My family raised me as a member of the Catholic faith, which taught me several good principles that helped me make good decisions throughout my youth. It was at the age of 18 that the influence of an LDS family, and their daughter in particular, allowed me to see some of the blessings i was missing in my life. I met the missionaries and about eight months later i was baptized. I love being a Mormon. The beliefs, actions, service and support from the church have helped me to progress not only as a Christian but also as a son, brother, citizen and even as a student. I love the teachings at church that helped me prepare for my future life as a husband and father. The principles taught in the Mormon church are uplifting and ennobling, I feel that I am a better person after I attend any of the many meetings throughout the week. I also treasure the many opportunities that the church has for its members to serve others.

How I live my faith

Currently I attend a University sponsored by the church, which creates a very uplifting environment that helps me keep my thought and actions in accordance to the gospel teachings. I attend my sunday meetings in a regular basis and I try my best to attend the different weekly activities from our congregation. I visit the temple as often as I can, to find peace and inspiration. I serve in my congregation as a counselor to our elders quorum president (the men's organization within our congregation). I read my scriptures every day and I pray for guidance every morning and night.
