Hi I'm Jay

I'm from Idaho. I'm a returned missionary from Argentina. I a son, brother, grandson. I love golf. And... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Idaho... at least that's where home is for me. I was born in Kansas, and moved Florida, then to North Carolina, to Indiana, then to Idaho, to South Carolina, back to Idaho, then I served a 2 year mission in Cordoba, Argentina, then back to Idaho. All the moves have helped me adapt to change and goodbyes. I love competition. Sports have always interested me. I've played soccer, baseball, basketball, swam, and played golf competitively. I also love racquetball, tennis, wake boarding, skiing, football, hockey, pool, foosball, you name it. I go to college currently at BYU Idaho. I'm still trying to choose a major. Nothing has quite clicked yet for me. I speak Spanish. I love my Argentinians. I had such a good time there learning from and helping all my "latinos".

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I remember, I have had a desire to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Granted, yes, I was born in this church, and yes my parents are faithful members. I grew up singing the primary songs, and involved in the youth organizations of the church. I have enjoyed being in the company of friends that have the same standards as I do, and being guided by great leaders that showed love and were selfless. I love being surrounded by great people that inspire me to be better. I love the programs that help me push myself to be a honorable, kind, hardworking citizen. These things have helped me be anxious to go to church or meetings. This, perhaps, helps me go, but what makes me stay is based on the testimony of doctrinal truths that I have acquired "drop by drop." Throughout my life, I have had many faith strengthening experiences in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt in my heart as I have read the scriptures, prayed, gone to church, and put into practice the things that I have learned, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church on the earth today. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to a boy, Joseph Smith, and revealed to him the truth. I know that Christ restored His truth to the earth through a living prophet, His mouthpiece on earth, as He has since the beginning. I know He loves me and knows how to help me become all I can be. I know that He lives and will return. I will continue faithfully and live what God has whispered to me personally.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the church. I have great parents. I chose to be baptized when I was 8 years old. I was able to participate in the "Young Men's" program. I served a 2 year mission in Cordoba, Argentina serving and teaching the people there. I currently am the president of the "Elders Quorum" (basically the group men who are members, close to where I live). I have great opportunities to serve, help, teach and learn from these great men. I plan on continuing serving wherever and whenever the Lord needs me. I love Him so much, and its the least I can do for Him that gave everything for me.
