Hi I'm Melissa

I love the Church. I love my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time mission in Taiwan. I love music, and have been teaching violin and piano for a little while now. I love school. It's always fascinating to learn, and meet new people. I have a big family, consisting of 3 older brothers, 3 older sisters, and a younger sister. I loved growing up with so many friends to help me through life whenever I've needed them.

Why I am a Mormon

I absolutely love this Gospel. This Church is truly the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although I have grown up in the Church, I have gained my own testimony of its truthfulness. I have gained my testimony through prayer and through living the principles taught in the scriptures and by the prophets. When we obey each commandment we have been commanded to live, we receive many blessings. Countless blessings. I have experienced so very many of those blessings. I am so grateful for my knowledge of the gospel, because I would be a very different person with a very different life without my faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. The scriptures teach us that "Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy." I know that we are truly meant to be happy in this life. God has a plan for us called The Plan of Happiness. Jesus Christ is the center of that plan. He has taken upon Himself the sins of the world. He suffered not only for our sins, but for our pains, afflictions, and temptations. He died for all of us, that we might not suffer if we would repent. And now, He lives again, that He may help us come unto Him, and accept His Atonement. This is why I live my gospel standards. I have experienced countless joys in my small lifetime. I know without a doubt that God loves each one of us. He wants us to be happy, and with His help, we all can be. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

For over a year, I had the opportunity to help teach and plan activities for the girls in my ward ages 8 through 11. They are wonderful girls, and it was a wonderful experience. I also lead the young children 18 months to 3 years old in a short singing time every Sunday, and play the piano for the primary children ages 3 through 11. It's a great blessing for me to work with all these children. I have grown to love them all very much, and I have learned a lot from them. Now I have the opportunity to share the gospel with the people in Taiwan. I study the gospel for 2-3 hours every day with an extra 1 hour of Chinese so that I can better help people recieve the blessings that come from living the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Then I go out each day and serve. I try each day to do as God would have me do, and feel Him with me every day. That is how I live my faith.
