Hi I'm Amy

A learner, loves to learn about other religions and cultures, a preschool teacher, and finds happiness being a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn about this great world. I have learned and studied other religions and cultures. Right now I teach preschool at a Jewish Community Center. Teaching children teaches me to enjoy the small, but amazing moments in life. I am very much in love with the country Russia and planning to move there in the near future. I think learning about and respect others beliefs is very important. I think the more we love and learn from each other, differences and all, we will learn how to be better people.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from pioneers from my mom's side of the family and my great grandmother on my Dad's side joined the church in England in the early 1900's. So I was raised in the church. When I was 26 I went to church once and a while, lived the gospel partly and was very unhappy. I was choosing to just leaving the church all together, but realized that I never really gave it a real chance. I wasnt trying to live it and I didnt have a relationship with my Heavenly Father or my Savior. I decided that I needed to give the Gospel a chance for a year by actually trying to live it and have a relationship with Heavenly Father. If I did this and I was still a unhappy, negative person I would leave the church forever. Well after a year I saw that I was becoming a happier person, a more positive person, a joyful person. I saw how the gospel brought true happiness and peace that I have never felt before. I knew, not just believed, that God lives and so does the Savior Jesus Christ. I gained this amazing relationship with them that truly changed my life and continues to. I saw myself changing and my family even told me that I was more pleasant to be around. The Gospel helps me see and shape me into a person that is capable of more than I ever realized. I truly feel it is the complete truth of what God wants and expects of us so we will be able to return to live with him. I love the gospel so much and amazed how much I have grown and changed these last few years. More than I had in the first 25 years of my life. I have learned how good choices shape and and how bad choices have shaped me and how with the Lord by my side I can overcome anything. This Gospel brings peace which I feel is true happiness. I say this because I am experiencing this in my life.

How I live my faith

Right now I teach a Sunday School class in a Young Single Adult Ward. I have mostly served as a teacher of all ages from children to adults. I also am a visiting teacher. I visit a few women in the neighborhood and have built strong friendships and bonds with them.
